What's an AI bot crawler?

AI indexing bots are computer programs that methodically go through each page of your site, reading the information and preparing it for use in their set of knowledge.

Googlebot and the AI Indexing Bots listed in the AI Search Console are functionally similar.

They both:

1. Read pages from your site
2. Prepare that information for later retrieval
3. Return it in the form of answers to users

If an AI bot is blocked from reading the information on your site, its knowledge of your site and brand will naturally be much less, and you'll receive less traffic and referrals from the AI search service.
